The night is far gone and the day is almost here. Let us then drop the works and deeds of darkness and put on the full armor of light. Live and conduct yourself honorably, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. But clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ and put a stop to thinking about the evil cravings of our physical nature (Romans 10:12-14). For blessed is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive the victor's crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him (James 1:12).
The god of this world has blinded the unbelievers' mind that they should not discern the truth, preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ. So we should tell others about Jesus Christ our Lord and see ourselves merely as servants for Jesus' sake (II Corinthians 4:4-5). Therefore God says, “Awake, O sleeper and arise from the dead and Christ shall shine upon you and give you light. Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurate, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise people, making the very most of the time (buying up each opportunity)(Ephesians 5:14-16).
Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in Heaven (Matthew 5:16). Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And, God's peace shall be yours, which transcends all understanding shall mount guard over your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. For the rest, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and fix your minds on these things (Philippians 4:6-8).
And, as you think on these things, the light in your eyes with your joyful heart will rejoice the hearts of others, and your good news will nourish the bones of others (Proverbs 15:30). May God's Word be what nourishes and refreshes you everyday. May His Spirit be the One Who moves you. May His Word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).
