Seek First the Kingdom of God

Today is National Scavenger Hunt Day. So, I'm challenging you to hunt for God. He is the greatest treasure you will ever find. He will enrich your life like no other. He will give you peace that passes all understanding. He will save you from yourself and from hell. God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit IS the greatest treasure!

Below are the Words that God says to you in His Word... When you seek Me and require me of necessity and on the authority of My Word, I will hear you and deliver you from all your fears (Psalm 34:4). He will give you His peace that passes all understanding. He will put your feet on solid ground and steady you, so that you have the strength and faith to face anything that comes your way. If you receive My words and treasure up my commandments within you, making your ear attentive to skillful and godly Wisdom and inclining and directing your heart and mind to understanding (applying all your powers to the quest for it; Yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek Wisdom as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures. Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find My knowledge. For I give skillful and godly Wisdom; from My mouth come knowledge and understanding. I hide away sound and godly Wisdom and store it for the righteous; I am a shield to those who walk uprightly and in integrity, that I may guard the paths of justice; yes, I preserve the way of My saints. Then you will understand righteousness, justice, and fair dealings in every area and relation; yes, you will understand every good path. For skillful and godly Wisdom shall enter into your heart, and knowledge shall be pleasant to you. Discretion shall watch over you, understanding shall keep you, to deliver you from the way of evil and the evil men (Proverbs 2:1-12).

Seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. So, do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own troubles (Matthew 6:33-34). Stay in relation with Him. Seek to live your life for His glory and He will take care of your needs. I love those who love Me, those who seek Me early and diligently shall find me. Riches and honor are with Me, enduring wealth and righteousness (uprightness in every area and relation, and right standing with God). My fruit is better than gold, yes, and my increase then choice silver (Proverbs 8:17). Look to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God and there is no other (Isaiah 45:22). Nothing else on this earth can bring you the satisfaction that a relationship with God can. He alone will satisfy you in every way. He will fulfill every longing in your heart of the need to feel loved, accepted, and cared for. Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you (Matthew 7:7). You search and investigate and pore over the scriptures diligently, because you suppose and trust that you have eternal life through them. And, these very Scriptures testify about Me! And, still you are not willing but refuse to come to Me, so that you might have life (John 5:39,40). Yes, know His Word, but all the more know HIM. It's not about knowing what His Word says. It's about knowing Him in a relationship. Hearing from Him personally...spending time with Him in prayer and hearing from Him yourself. That's where His Holy Spirit comes in. Listen for Him...and then obey Him.

The following prayer by David is an excellent way to start with your quest for God. Speak this. Live this. God longs to have a relationship with you. Seek Him. Find Him. Follow hard after Him. Let Him be your greatest treasure! O God, you are my God, earnestly will I seek You, my inner self thirsts for you, in a dry and weary land where no water is. So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. So will I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your Name. My whole being shall praise You with joyful lips. When I remember You upon my bed and meditate on You in the nights watches. For You have been my Help, and in the shadow of Your wings will I rejoice. My whole being follows hard after You and clings closely to You; Your right hand upholds me (Psalm 63:1-8).
